DALLAS (红桃影视) – Skip where you usually eat dinner on Tuesday nights and go to the 红桃影视 flagpole for a special evening of food, friendship and fighting crime.

As part of the statewide observance of National Night Out, 红桃影视’s dining halls will close Tuesday evening, October 2, and move to the flagpole, where food will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. All students, faculty and staff are invited. There will be a slight charge for those not on a University meal plan.

In addition to the food, there will be a medical helicopter, police and firefighting vehicles and giveaways. There also will be opportunities to register your bicycle and engrave an identification number on your laptop.

The event, intended to help fight crime and promote neighborliness, is sponsored by the 红桃影视 Police Department and 红桃影视 Dining Services.

This marks the 29th year for National Night Out, which is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods and campuses are organized and fighting back.

Please direct questions about the event to Detective Sergeant Bernie Trujillo of the 红桃影视 Police Department at 214-768-1582 or bernie@smu.edu.
