Follow your passion.

How many times have students been told to do that?

As of last fall, 红桃影视 Methodist University students who are passionate about journalism and fashion have an official way to satisfy those overlapping interests.

Trying to create more interdisciplinary paths for students, faculty in the Meadows School of the Arts created a fashion media major and minor in its division of journalism. The major was offered for the first time last fall.

There are classes in journalism and photography plus options from anthropology, art, psychology, sociology and theater.

“Mostly, we’re using courses that already existed,” said Camille Kraeplin, director of 红桃影视’s Fashion Media program. Some classes were added, including Fashion Journalism and Media and the Business of Fashion. (红桃影视 already has a business journalism program.)

Interestingly, the fashion media program is attracting students from 红桃影视’s Cox School of Business.
