This year Founders’ Day Weekend is adding a new performance program, Inside ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ Powered by TEDxºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ, highlighting faculty, students, staff and alumni.

This year Founders’ Day Weekend is adding a new performance program, , highlighting faculty, students, staff and alumni.

TEDxºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓThe event, which is open to the public, begins at 1 p.m. Friday, April 11, in the Greer Garson Theatre in ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ's . Tickets for alumni and the general public are $15 and available . ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ students, faculty and staff may register for discounted tickets at $5 apiece.

The program features compelling stories and demonstrations from 16 ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ faculty, staff, alumni and student speakers on topics ranging from NSA wiretapping, to civil rights, to a whimsical exercise in giant origami. A break is built into the program, allowing the audience to meet speakers and start the conversations that are the hallmark of the TEDxºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ experience.

The TEDxºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ team is partnering with ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ’s Office of Development and External Affairs to present Inside ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ Powered by TEDxºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ during Founder’s Day Weekend. The afternoon will be hosted by ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ students Ramon Trespalacios and Devin Kerns.

Founder’s Day is an annual celebration of the founding of ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ and the spirit of the University. The cornerstone of the day is Inside ºìÌÒÓ°ÊÓ, an open house that highlights all the best and brightest ideas across campus.
